While schools are closed and many Scouts are at home, merit badge counselors have stepped up to the plate to volunteer their time to help continue the mission of Scouting. Heart of New England Council is coordinating merit badge counselors to help provide program to Scouts.
100% of fees collected will go back to the Heart of New England Council to help support our Campership Fund. The COVID 19 outbreak is changing many household’s financial situations, thus leaving a greater need for Camperships. Please choose the amount you feel comfortable paying and know if will directly support families.
Registration will close one day before the class is scheduled to begin. Badges with only one registered Scout will be cancelled to comply with Youth Protection. Video instruction will be completed via Zoom. Visit https://zoom.us/download to download the app before the class begins. You will receive instructions from your counselor via email before the course begins. We will email your Scoutmaster to get approval for you to start the badge. Counselors will keep track of requirements digitally and communicate them to your Scoutmaster at the conclusion of the course. Physical Blue Cards will be mailed out from the office once the shutdown ends.
Some merit badges will require work to be completed when the stay at home advisory has been lifted. These offerings are a great way to get a jump start on a badge that you could finish this summer at Treasure Valley or Camp Wanocksett!
