June isn’t all that far away and we realize that people are anxious to know how the current situation is going to impact our summer camp programs at Treasure Valley, Camp Wanocksett, and Camp Split Rock.
Based on current information, we’re still planning for camp to happen as originally scheduled. The staff is working hard to prepare to deliver an outstanding summer camp experience to our Scouts.
We understand that life has changed and there will be many factors affecting unit and individual involvement in camp – and we want to be sure to address your individual needs as much as possible. From families that may experience a loss in income to parents that simply won’t feel comfortable sending their Scout to camp, we know that life may not be business as usual this summer.
However, we also know that camp is an opportunity for Scouts and leaders alike to get back to some sense of normalcy. Being outside, in nature, has a way of making us feel better. Attending camp may be even more important this summer than any other summer of our lives.
The Heart of New England Council is committed to helping as many Scouts get their
summer camping experience as possible.
- We’ve pushed our early-bird deadline out to May 15th in the hopes that the extra time will give you a chance to organize payments after resuming meetings.
- Our campership application is still available online.
- We will work with units that may have other considerations that need to be worked through.
The news is still changing daily and as we process information, we’ll keep our Scouts, leaders and parents updated.
